Thank you for visiting our website. NuRide, Inc. supports a policy of openness about the collection and use of personally identifiable information about our visitors and members. We have adopted and implemented the following privacy policy as part of our commitment to protecting your privacy and personal information. This policy sets forth the information we collect from our members and other visitors to our website and how we will use that information.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Except for certain areas of our website that are restricted to registered users, you do not need to sign in or register to browse our website. This means you may browse our site (except for the restricted areas) without providing any personally identifiable information.

In order to use the services available on our site, you will need to become a NuRide Member. To become a NuRide Member, you will need to provide your email address, name, home address, age range, gender, smoking preference, information on your commute, and password. You will also need to verify your account with either your organization email, an active Facebook account with at least 10 friends, or via a text message sent to your mobile phone.

After you become a NuRide Member, we will collect information from you about your recorded trips, including the dates and locations of your trips and the NuRide names of your any carpool partners. We refer to the information described in this paragraph and the previous two paragraphs as Membership Data.

As a visitor to our website, whether as a member or non-member, NuRide will collect certain anonymous information from you. The anonymous information includes the pages you view on our website, the websites you visit immediately before and immediately after visiting our website, your IP address and the operating system, browser software and internet service provider you use. This information does not personally identify you.

If you choose to send us a feedback form, we will collect your email address. Any visitor to our website may send a feedback form, whether or not the visitor has registered as a member.

We also use the standard cookie feature of major browsers. A cookie is a small file placed on your hard drive that allows us to learn about your visit to our website. Cookies help us learn which areas of our website are useful and which areas need improvement. We use only session cookies, which are deleted from your hard drive when you close your browser. If you choose to have NuRide remember you to facilitate quicker log in sessions, NuRide will place a permanent cookie on your computer which enables us to remember you when you return to the site.

HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT?

We use the Membership Data to register your membership, set up and maintain your account, determine how many reward points you have earned, search for ridesharing trips, notify you of updates to the website and our services, and contact you if we need more information. We will not disclose Membership Data to anyone except under the following circumstances and then only to the limited extent described below:

• Where you are specifically looking for another NuRide member to carpool with and you enter the desired carpool trip on the NuRide web site, we will then disclose to all NuRide Members, your NuRider name and general information regarding the trip you posted (date, time, place of departure and destination).
  
  
• If you or a carpool trip that you have entered into the NuRide web site matches a NuRider search or a trip search by a NuRide Member, we will, upon request, disclose to the NuRide Member the following Membership Data about you: your NuRider name, your age range, gender, date of NuRide membership, the city and state where you work and live, the name of your employer, the type of vehicle(s) you drive, your past NuRide trip activity, your feedback rating, and match criteria. In no event will we disclose any of your other Membership Data to any NuRide Members.
  
  
• We may disclose your Membership Data to government funding agencies in regions where NuRide is funded directly by the state, county, city, municipal planning organization, or regional council of governments and where NuRide is required contractually to disclose this data.
  
  
• We will disclose your Membership Data if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary (a) to obey the law or comply with legal process served on us or our affiliates; (b) to protect and defend our rights or property or the rights or property of other users of our website; or (c) to act in an emergency to protect the personal safety of users of our website or the public.
  
  
• If we sell our company or its assets, we may transfer your Membership Data to the purchaser so that the purchaser can continue to provide services to you. The purchaser will be bound by this Privacy Policy.

We may aggregate the Membership Data from NuRide Members (for example, we may calculate the average length of our members commutes or determine the average age of our members) and disclose the aggregate information to third parties. This aggregate information cannot be used to personally identify you.

We use the anonymous information we collect from our website to administer our website, improve our services, determine how our website is being used, identify popular areas of our website and analyze trends and usage patterns. We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server. This anonymous information cannot be used to personally identify you.

Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites, including the use of personally identifiable information about you collected by those websites.

DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION ABOUT CHILDREN?

We respect the sensitive nature of childrens privacy online. You must be at least 18 years old to register online for our services. If we learn that a user is under 18 years of age, we will promptly delete any personally identifiable information in that users account. If you are under the age of 18, please do not send us any information about yourself.

HOW DO YOU CORRECT OR DELETE INFORMATION YOU HAVE PROVIDED US?

If you wish to correct or change your Membership Data, you may do so by visiting the My Account section of the NuRide web site.

You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting us and telling us to cancel your membership.

HOW SECURE IS OUR WEBSITE?

We use security measures standard in the industry to safeguard the confidentiality of the personally identifiable information you provide us when you register online. To ensure that your Membership Data is secure, we store it in a database that is not accessible over the Internet and will not be displayed anywhere on this web site.
